Rocky Mountain Xtreme, LLC. Company Information

Rocky Mountain Xtreme provides expert service, maintenance and modifications on most brands of snowmobiles, ATVs, UTVs, and personal watercraft, as well as selling powersports accessory items and riding gear from Klim, Western Power Sports, Fly Racing, Alternative Impact, SLP, Abom, Boondocker, and BCA.

Rocky Mountain Xtreme is operated by Donavon Facey.  Until May of 2009, the Faceys owned Xtreme Performance Center, one of Colorado's largest and most well respected powersports dealerships.  Unfortunately, Donavon's wife Mindy was diagnosed with leukemia in October of 2008 and the combination of the recession and Mindy's illness necessitated closing the dealerships.  However, Mindy is doing well and Donavon is excited to still be in the powersports business. With Rocky Mountain Xtreme, Donavon is continuing to focus on doing what made Xtreme unique: high altitude setups for ATVs and snowmobiles, high altitude specific mod packages for snowmobiles, and great customer service.  Xtreme's long-time commitment to great customer service is well known in the industry and continues with RMX. At RMX, his focus is directed at making sure your machine consistently meets your expectations, whether in stock or modified form.

How Business is Conducted at Rocky Mountain Xtreme

All jobs at RMX are priced by the job. There is not a standard "labor rate" as that is generally not a fair way to price service work. Just as most folks would not stay at a hotel that charges by the hour, having service done by the hour is also not a great idea. If a machine needs to be diagnosed to determine the problem, in most cases that diagnosis can be performed for around $120. At that point, the customer is given a detailed price to complete the repair and they can decide whether to proceed or not. For jobs requiring more teardown, that would be discussed with the customer before proceeding. For routine maintenance, summerizations, winterizations, etc., those jobs are always quoted and charged at a fixed price. The goal at RMX is to provide the very best service available with no surprises to the customer.

Donavon's Background

As the owner of Xtreme, Donavon wore many hats running the dealership. In addition to the day to day operations, he developed and tested Xtreme's high altitude setups and RMX mod packages. He also developed and worked with many other engine modifications including nitrous kits and turbo chargers using both dyno data and lots of field testing. As an avid snowmobiler since age three, the quest to make machines run better, climb higher, and go faster has been a lifelong pursuit. Donavon also served as the company's technical guru and was often involved in repairing machines that suffered from tough to diagnosis or tough to fix maladies.

As it's tough to be in the powersports business and not get the itch to race, Donavon did a fair amount of that over the years as well. He raced snocross for a couple years and then moved on to watercraft racing where he won the Expert Limited 785 class championships for a couple of seasons running and qualified for the World Finals on three occassions. Finally, Donavon and Xtreme were involved as sponsors of the snowmobile class at Bandimere Speedway for several seasons. His trophy collection includes three season Championships, three season Runner-Up finshes, and numerous race wins. His personal best stands at 9.22 seconds at 152mph in the quarter mile aboard a hand built Apex Turbo drag sled.

These days, Donavon is a devout powder rider in the winter and enjoys riding ATVs and taking the kids for a spin in the family RZR. Most weekends in the winter, there's a good chance you'll see the Faceys in Northern Colorado waiting for the next storm to bring a whopping dose of champagne powder. Nothing beats deep snow for giving the latest mod package or lightweight part a thorogh thrashing. In addition to be a die-hard powersports fanatic, Donavon also picked up a Class A CDL and a pilot's license along the way.
